On May 15, 2025, the Vietnamese Government issued Resolution No. 130/NQ-CP approving the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and the Government of the United Arab Emirates (CEPA).

The Agreement consists of a Preamble, 18 Chapters, 16 Annexes, and 2 bilateral letters, covering key areas such as trade in goods, services and investment, rules of origin, technical barriers to trade (TBT), sanitary and phytosanitary measures (SPS), customs, trade remedies, government procurement, intellectual property, and legal-institutional matters. The level of commitments across all areas, in general, does not exceed those in the FTAs to which Viet Nam is currently a party.
