In international trade, trade defense measures are a general term used to refer to anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard measures. These are tools that the World Trade Organization (WTO) allows import markets to use to protect themselves against unfairly competitive or suddenly increasing imports that cause damage to domestic production.
With increasingly improved export capacity and turnover, Vietnamese export goods are facing more and more investigations and applications of trade defense measures in export markets. Responding and effectively appealing to these cases is an important requirement for export enterprises to protect their interests, minimize damage and continue to export sustainably in relevant markets.
The Handbook of Trade Remedies in Australia is part of a series of handbooks of Trade Remedies, which aims to introduce the most basic and core contents on conditions, procedures, and issues to note in investigations and application of Trade Remedies in Australia.
Hopefully, the Handbook will be a useful reference document to help businesses exporting goods to Australia to be ready to effectively respond to Trade Remedies risks in this market.
