Official Letter No.5079/BKHDT-QLDT on implementing commitments on bidding in the EVFTA

On August 6, 2020, the Ministry of Planning and Investment issued Official Letter No. 5079/BKHĐT-QLDT on implementing the commitments on bidding in the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
The EVFTA was approved by the 14th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at its 9th session, on June 8, 2020 and took effect from August 1, 2020.
Currently, the Ministry of Planning and Investment is going to submit legal documents guiding the implementation of commitments on procurement under the EVFTA to the Government. In order to ensure compliance with the EVFTA in contractor selection, from August 1, 2020, contractor selection activities for bidding packages covered by the Government Procurement Chapter of the EVFTA will comply with the provisions of the EVFTA .
Summary of Vietnam's commitments on Government Procurement in the EVFTA is issued together with the Official Letter as an appendix.
