Viet Nam expected to retain position as world’s second-largest coffee producer in 2025/26 crop

Viet Nam is expected to maintain its position as the world’s second-largest coffee producer and the leading global supplier of robusta coffee in the 2025/26 crop year, thể Viet Nam News Agency quoted the latest data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as reporting,

Coffee production is forecast to recover to 30.8 million 60-kilogram bags, supported by favorable weather conditions and increased investment in farming.

Robusta coffee is projected to account for nearly 95% of Viet Nam’s total output, reinforcing the country’s dominant role in the global market for instant coffee and commercial blends. Coffee bean exports are also expected to rise by 2.3 million bags to 24.6 million bags, driven by improved supply.

The USDA data showed that Brazil remains the world’s largest coffee producer, with output forecast at 63 million bags in the 2025/26 season. Colombia, Indonesia, and Ethiopia round out the world’s top five coffee-producing nations.

Viet Nam’s coffee industry has continued to deliver strong export performance. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, coffee export revenue reached $3.6 billion in the first four months of 2026, underscoring the sector’s growing contribution to the country’s agricultural exports and its resilience amid evolving global market conditions.
