Export turnover plunges in the first half of September
23/09/2024 51In the first half of September, the import-export turnover plunged about US$7 billion to US$14 billion compared to the second half of August 2024.
According to the latest statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first half of September, the total import-export turnover of the whole country reached US$14 billion, a decrease of US$6.73 billion compared to the second half of the previous month.
The decrease in the turnover may result from the impact of storm No. 3.
In fact, storm No. 3 has caused great damage to many provinces and cities in the Northern region, including key import and export localities such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, etc.
The billion-dollar export commodity groups in the first half of September include: computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts; telephones and components; and textiles.
As of September15, the country’s total trade in goods reached US$279.38 billion.
In the first half of September, the import turnover dropped about US$ 3 billion to US$ 14.55 billion compared with the previous month.
The two billion-dollar import commodity groups in the first half of September include computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts.
As of September 15, the total import turnover of the whole country achieved US$ 261.34 billion.
