The two sides discussed China-EU trade relations, electric vehicles, 5G, supply chain among other topics.
China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao had "in-depth" discussions with the EU's industry chief Thierry Breton on China-EU trade relations, electric vehicles, 5G, supply chain and other topics on Friday.
Wang also raised China's concerns about the EU's anti-subsidy investigations over China's electric vehicles, according to a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
In September, the European Union said it was launching an investigation into Chinese subsidies for electric vehicles as the bloc frets over the ability of its industry to compete.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the probe, saying that the global market is flooded with cheap Chinese cars.
