Foreign direct investment (FDI) from China has continued to flow into Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Two-way trade between Vietnam and the United States reached US$74.4 billion in the first seven months of the year, growing strongly in both export and import directions. With such an increasing rate, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the United States may soon exceed US$100 billion this year.

Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and China fetched US$112.2 billion in the past seven months, up 25% year on year.

Failure to grasp and comply with the technical requirements of the importing country will create difficulties for businesses on the export path.

Investors hoping that volatility eases for the rest of the year may not like what they see on the calendar. As attention turns towards the US elections in November, investors in Asia are trying to understand how US-China trade relations could evolve.
