Following the recent resolution of the trade dispute over European Union (EU) exports of solar-grade polysilicon, China and the EU have welcomed another agreement to resolve a trade dispute involving European wine exports without the imposition of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties.

HA NOI (VNS)— Viet Nam's livestock industry, while relatively well dev eloped, has not been able to take advantage of its export potential, experts say. So far, the industry has only succeeded in exporting small volumes of fresh and processed livestock products, they told the Thoi Bao Kinh Doanh newspaper. Nguyen Dang Vang, the chairman of the Viet Nam Livestock Association said export livestock enterprises have mainly exported suckling pigs and salted duck eggs to Hong Kong and Malaysia apart from several varieties of meat to China via border trade.

HCM CITY  (VNS) — Norwegian business representatives accompanying Crown Prince Haakon Magnus and his wife on their visit to Viet Nam told the local business community in HCM City yesterday that they expect the free trade agreement between Viet Nam and European Union to come into force this year. Thomas Angell, executive director of trade at the Enterprise Federation of Norway (Virke) and chairman of the EFTA Consultative Committee, predicted that exports from Viet Nam to Norway would increase by around 10 percent a year.

SEOUL, March 21 (Xinhua) -- South Korea and China saw disparities on how to liberalize the goods sector at the 10th round of free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations, Seoul's Trade Ministry said Friday. Delegations from both sides held the 10th talks on the bilateral free trade deal in Ilsan, northwest of capital Seoul, for five days through Friday, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) -- China will close an anti-dumping and anti-subsidy probe into wine imported from the EU after industries of the two sides reached an agreement, an official statement said Friday. Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng was quoted by the statement as saying that the consensus, achieved through positive talks, indicated cooperation between wine producers. Wineries of the two sides reached a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday, which indicated an end to the probe.

Taipei, March 20 (CNA) Taiwan and United States will discuss issues related to a possible bilateral investment agreement (BIA) and Taiwan's participation in the negotiations for the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade bloc, in their next round of major trade talks, an official said Thursday. Taiwan has been upping its efforts to join the proposed U.S.-led Pacific Rim trade bloc and is seeking the support of the negotiating countries, Foreign Minister David Lin said at a press briefing.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) can serve as a foundation of stability - fostering security and economic growth throughout the Pacific Rim region. That is why it is critical that the 12 countries negotiating TPP focus on crafting a modern and relevant trade agreement.
