Are the exothermic chemical reactions involved in fertiliser production accounted for as direct emissions?

If a reaction leads to the generation of CO2, e.g. through the oxidation of organic chemicals, and the CO2 is emitted, it is accounted for as direct emissions.

Emissions from the conversion of natural gas to hydrogen also count as direct emissions.
