The Vietnam-EU free trade agreement is a highway that creates opportunities not only for 'heavy vehicles' but also 'mini trucks', says Vu Tien Loc, chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Speaking at a video conference on the action plan to implement the free trade agreement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and The European Union (EVFTA) held on August 6, 2020, the Minister of Planning and Investment said that the Ministry has developed an action plan to implement the agreement with four groups of tasks and solutions.

As the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) presents a wealth of business opportunities for both sides, local firms are advised to enquire into intellectual property rights (IPRs) in order to penetrate deep into the demanding European market.

The nation witnessed modest earnings from rice exports to the EU market as a result of high import duties and restrictions caused by limited rice quotas provided by the EU, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)
