In April 2026, it is witnessed a number of notable developments in Viet Nam’s international economic integration, shaped by intertwined dynamics between global market movements and domestic policy adjustments. In the world, the global economy continued to face significant uncertainties, as geopolitical tensions escalated, energy market structures were disrupted, and new developments emerged in the United States’ trade policy from IEEPA-related tariff reinstatements and Section 301 investigations to intellectual property matters, all of which have had direct impacts on Viet Nam’s export activities. Domestically, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows reached a record high in the first four months of the year, while the trade balance shifted into a deficit. At the same time, several important policy documents were issued to support enterprises in expanding market access, promoting trade facilitation, and addressing bottlenecks in international trade operations.
The magazine "International Economic Integration" – April 2026, compiled by VCCI, provides a consolidated overview of these developments as well as key integration-related events anticipated in May 2026. The magazine aims to serve as a reference source for the business community, regulatory agencies, researchers, and readers interested in Viet Nam’s international economic integration process.
