On October 28, 2024, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Viet Nam and the UAE signed the Viet Nam - UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the VN - UAE CEPA). The CEPA was launched for negotiation in 2023 in the context of the increasingly developing bilateral relations between Viet Nam and the UAE, especially in the economic and trade fields. The signing of this Agreement on October 28, 2024, in the UAE after a period of one year of negotiations with 5 official negotiation sessions, including 3 direct sessions at the Ministerial level, is a clear demonstration of the commitment to bring trade and investment cooperation between both sides to a new level.

The completion of the CEPA with the UAE, as one of Viet Nam's leading trade partners in the Middle East - is an important step forward, helping Viet Nam strengthen diplomatic relations with the UAE in particular, creating a foundation to continue promoting deeper economic cooperation in the region and globally.
