05/02/2025 73Malaysia has expanded anti-dumping duties on imports of all stranded steel wires for prestressed concrete from China, the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry said on Wednesday.
Exports of the products from China will be levied with 21.72% duties, the ministry said in a statement. The Royal Malaysian Customs Department will enforce the collection of the anti-dumping duties effective Feb 5, 2025 to Dec 24, 2026, it noted.
The anti-dumping duties followed an administrative review on Aug 8, 2024 to determine changes in the dumping margin on the imports of the products from Tianjin Dalu Steel Strand For Prestressed Co Ltd and Silvery Dragon Prestressed Materials Co Ltd Tianjin.
The administrative review was initiated based on the application filed by Southern PC Steel Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Southern Steel Bhd, on behalf of the domestic industry.
Following the review, the duties on imports of steel wires for prestressed concrete into Malaysia is set at 9.07% for Silvery Dragon, and 3.12% for Tianjin Dalu, the ministry added.
