Negotiating teams from EFTA and Vietnam met from 27 to 30 August 2013 in Nha Trang, Vietnam, for a fifth round of negotiations towards a comprehensive free trade agreement (FTA).

Expert groups addressed all topics foreseen to be covered by the future FTA, including trade in goods and services, rules of origin, trade facilitation, trade remedies, investment, intellectual property rights, competition, legal and horizontal provisions, sustainable development, and cooperation and capacity building, with further progress being achieved in several areas.
