In international trade, trade remedies (TR) is a term used to refer to three measures: anti-dumping, countervailing, and safeguard. These are tools that the World Trade Organization (WTO) allows importing markets to use to protect themselves from unfairly competitive or surging imports that cause damage to the domestic industry.

With increasing capacity and export turnover, Vietnamese exports are facing a growing number of trade remedy investigations in export markets. Effective response and defense in these cases are crucial for exporting businesses to protect their interests, minimize losses, and continue sustainable exports in the relevant markets.

The Handbook on Trade Remedies in India is written based on the fact that India is one of Vietnam's potential export markets. It is also a market among the most frequent users of trade remedy measures within the WTO. This handbook is part of the VCCI's series of handbooks on trade remedies in foreign markets, compiled to introduce the most basic and essential content regarding the conditions, order, procedures, and issues to be noted in trade remedy investigations in India.

It is hoped that this Handbook will be a useful reference guide for businesses exporting goods to India to prepare for trade remedy risks in this market.
