Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Le Viet Duyen paid a working visit to Trujillo state between March 25 and March 28 as part of efforts to ramp up business co-operation between Vietnamese and Venezuelan firms.

During a reception held for the Ambassador Duyen, Governor of Trujillo Henry Rangel Silva described the visit by the Vietnamese diplomat as fresh impetus to boost mutual ties in terms of trade and investment.

Featuring rich soil, Trujillo shares similarities with the country in terms of the development of agriculture, animal husbandry, and tourism, Governor Silva said, adding that the state is keen to learn from the nation’s experience to further tap into its own potential and develop local rice projects.

In response, Ambassador Duyen expressed a keen desire to discuss general co-operation between Vietnam and Trujillo, with hope that assistance from the Venezuela-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CAVENVIET) can see both sides fast-track joint projects in economics, trade, investment, and agriculture.

As part of the trip, the Vietnamese embassy held a workshop to detail Venezuela’s economic, trade, and investment policies. The event also showcased opportunities in investment and the expansion of the labour and export market whilst featuring the participation of representatives from the Trujillo administration, the CAVENVIET, and roughly 30 local companies.

During his address at the event, Ambassador Duyen introduced Vietnamese strengths in the export of rice, coffee, peppercorns, mobile phone-electronic components, apparel, and aquatic products.

The local diplomat also assured participants of the country’s willingness to share its reform experience as a means of helping Venezuela to implement economic reform, including the development of agriculture.

Most notably, the nation has plenty of strengths in farming production experience, human resources, techniques, and varieties, while Venezuela boasts advantages in soil, climate, and market. Due to these factors, the country should pay due attention to agricultural co-operation with the South American partner, Ambassador Duyen noted.
